Lesson Plan 6/28 and lots of Red,White and Blue Fun!!!!

WEEKS : 6/28/2010 - 7/02/2010 THEME:4th of July/Proud to be American
MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY FRIDAY
CENTERS (COMMUNICATION SKILLS & SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT) IN ADDITION TO CHILD-LED PLAY IN ANY OF OUR AGE-APPROPRIATE, EDUCATIONAL TOY CENTERS, WE WILL HAVE THEME RELATED ACTIVITIES OUT TO REINFORCE THE CURRICULUM.
OUTDOOR PLAY SKILLS (GROSS MOTOR & SOCIAL SKILLS) EITHER OUTSIDE OR IN THE MOTOR ROOM, WE WILL WORK ON MUSCLE DEVELOPMENT AND COORDINATION WHILE CONTINUING TO HONE OUR SOCIAL SKILLS. THEME BASED ACTIVITIES WILL BE A FOCUS.
Books & Songs under the tree. SPLASH DAY!!!! Balls & Skipping fun. Free Play Outside Art Projects
CIRCLE TIME (COMMUNICATION SKILLS, LITERACY DEVELOPMENT) LETTERS, NUMBERS, CALENDAR, WEATHER, BOOKS, AND SONGS WITH A THEME-BASED FOCUS EACH DAY.
MUSIC/MOVEMENT/CREATIVE EXPRESSION (GROSS MOTOR & CREATIVE EXPRESSION) Listen & sing the national anthem American Folksongs Square Dancing Spanish Class Instrament Fun. Bring your own CD to school.
LANGUAGE ARTS (COGNITIVE, LITERACY & FINE MOTOR DEVELOPMENT) Book: Our President 2009 version. If I were president picture & quote. Book: Where do I live? Pain,glue,color door decoration. Book: Countries of the world. Glue & stick my flag. Book: Lone star state of Texas. Red,white & blue mask! Book: Let's celebrate our independence. Firecracker Art!
MATH/SCIENCE/SENSORY (COGNITIVE & FINE MOTOR DEVELOPMENT) Red, white & blue playdough day. Make Red & blue ice pops with craft sticks. USA puzzles & games. Around the world in 80 days Movie. (25min) Cupcakes & cookie fun!
DIVERSITY OUR LESSONS IN DIVERSITY WILL BE TAUGHT AND REINFORCED DAILY BASED ON THEME AND OPPORTUNITY. FEEL FREE TO BRING YOUR OWN CUSTOMS AND TRADITIONS TO OUR ATTENTION SO WE MAY SHARE THEM
HEALTH AND WELLNESS THIS PART OF THE CURRICULUM WILL TEACH CONCEPTS SUCH AS WASHING HANDS, EXERCISE, HEALTHY FOOD CHOICES, AND SAFE BEHAVIOR. WE WILL INCORPORATE THEME RELATED MATERIALS AS NECESSARY.
