CENTERS (COMMUNICATION SKILLS & SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT) IN ADDITION TO CHILD-LED PLAY IN ANY OF OUR AGE-APPROPRIATE, EDUCATIONAL TOY CENTERS, WE WILL HAVE THEME RELATED ACTIVITIES OUT TO REINFORCE THE CURRICULUM.
OUTDOOR PLAY SKILLS (GROSS MOTOR & SOCIAL SKILLS) EITHER OUTSIDE OR IN THE MOTOR ROOM, WE WILL WORK ON MUSCLE DEVELOPMENT AND COORDINATION WHILE CONTINUING TO HONE OUR SOCIAL SKILLS. THEME BASED ACTIVITIES WILL BE A FOCUS.
Group Games Balance Skills Hand Co-ordination (Ball Games) Free Play Jumping & Skipping Games
CIRCLE TIME (COMMUNICATION SKILLS, LITERACY DEVELOPMENT) LETTERS, NUMBERS, CALENDAR, WEATHER, BOOKS, AND SONGS WITH A THEME-BASED FOCUS EACH DAY.
MUSIC/MOVEMENT/CREATIVE EXPRESSION (GROSS MOTOR & CREATIVE EXPRESSION) 1. Head ,Shoulders,Knees & Toes. 2. If you are happy and you know it. 1. Animal Actions I, using hands & feet. 2. Animal Actions II, using arms & legs. A Visit to the Doctor dress-up & Kids in motion CD fun. Spanish with Ms Katie. Colors, Animals, Numbers & songs. Kids puppet show & All our body songs w/actions.
LANGUAGE ARTS (COGNITIVE, LITERACY & FINE MOTOR DEVELOPMENT) Book: This is me, bring you favorite self portrait to school. This is how I draw me art. Book: Going to the Dentist. Discuss tooth brushing. Paper Plate Face, glue & color. Book: Hands,hands fingers, thumb. Create a stethoscope with foil & paper. Book: Back in my arms body book. 1.Tooth brush painting. 2.free art. Book: Just a joke & Llama, 1.Feet painting outside. 2 Shoe tearing collage.
MATH/SCIENCE/SENSORY (COGNITIVE & FINE MOTOR DEVELOPMENT) 1.Little People floor play. 2.Counting Bears & tubs. 1.Threading Fun 2.Discovery table w/ oats & home living toys. Play Dough with shapes & cookie cutters. 1.Little People DVD. & People puzzles. 2.My first Peg boards. Occupations Floor Puzzles
DIVERSITY OUR LESSONS IN DIVERSITY WILL BE TAUGHT AND REINFORCED DAILY BASED ON THEME AND OPPORTUNITY. FEEL FREE TO BRING YOUR OWN CUSTOMS AND TRADITIONS TO OUR ATTENTION SO WE MAY SHARE THEM
HEALTH AND WELLNESS THIS PART OF THE CURRICULUM WILL TEACH CONCEPTS SUCH AS WASHING HANDS, EXERCISE, HEALTHY FOOD CHOICES, AND SAFE BEHAVIOR. WE WILL INCORPORATE THEME RELATED MATERIALS AS NECESSARY.
